Welder

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Perform MIG welding on metal components as per drawings and work instructions.

• Carry out gas cutting, grinding, beveling, and surface preparation before and after welding.

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and ensure proper fit-up and alignment.

• Inspect welded joints for strength, penetration, and finish as per quality standards.

• Identify and rectify welding defects such as cracks or porosity.

• Operate and maintain welding machines, gas cutting equipment, and grinders.

• Ensure proper handling and storage of welding consumables.

• Follow safety procedures and use PPE at all times.

• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and tools.

• Coordinate with supervisors and production team to meet daily targets.

• Report machine faults, safety hazards, or quality issues promptly.

• Ensure work is completed on time without compromising quality.

 

Desired Qualifications & Skill Requirements :

• ITI in Welding/Fabrication or Diploma in Mechanical/Welding Technology (preferred).

• 1–5 years of experience in welding or fabrication in a manufacturing industry.

• Hands-on experience in MIG welding, gas cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication work.

• Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and welding symbols.

• Knowledge of welding defects and basic troubleshooting (cracks, porosity, etc.).

• Familiarity with welding machines, gas cutting equipment, and grinders.

• Understanding of welding safety practices and proper use of PPE.

• Ability to maintain weld quality, proper alignment, and finishing.

• Teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to meet production targets.

• Physically fit and willing to work in a manufacturing environment / shifts if required.
