Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-time inspections based on supplier-reported readiness within 24 hours.
- Verify that supplied goods meet company requirements as per approved drawings, specifications, and design standards.
- Ensure that any design changes or special requirements are approved by the Design Team and HOD via formal communication before implementation.
- Perform regular visits to supplier facilities to monitor production and inspection status and update the team via email reports.
- Identify and document non-conformances (NC), rework, or deviations at the supplier end and follow up for closure.
- Maintain records of supplier inspection calls to support On-Time Delivery (OTD) completion.
- Track and monitor supplier delivery performance with a focus on First Time Right (FTR) quality.
- Conduct product inspections and process audits at supplier locations and document observations.
- Ensure deviation and non-conformance closure as per company quality standards and communicate through formal documentation.
- Monitor and submit weekly and monthly supplier performance dashboards.
- Maintain CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to prevent customer complaints and ensure proper reaction confirmation.
- Verify quantity and packing details as per the packing list before dispatch approval.
Desired Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Diploma or ITI or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an equipment manufacturing company.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of material specifications, standards, and mechanical properties.
- Good understanding of fabrication and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, TIG).
- Familiarity with welding defects, inspection techniques, and repair methods.
- Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection standards.
- Understanding of NDT methods (UT, RT, PT, MT).
- Ability to identify critical quality checkpoints during manufacturing and assembly.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, ERP/SAP systems.
